Judge's Critique - Dogs

Open Breed Show - 7th October 2018

Would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge and the exhibitors for entering under me.

Minor Puppy Dog (2, 1a)
1. Janbell Just The Ticket for Edwinoak. 8months old, he is what he should be a raw minor puppy. Masculine head, with correct proportions, dark eye and well set ears that are sensitive in use. Good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders. Coat in very good condition and presented well. Moved well. Best Puppy Dog. Reserve Best Puppy In Show.

Puppy Dog (1, 1a)

Junior Dog (3)
1. Master Of Illusion. 16months old. Presented in top condition and partnership with handler was lovely to watch and she showed him to his best. Strong masculine head of correct proportions but not over done. correct bite, good ear set and dark eye. Lovely forequarters with good reach of neck and well laid back shoulders, depth of chest good for age, sloping croup to low set tail that reaches hock. Moved with ease and extension.
2. Locheil Secret Surprise at Elystari. 17month old. Very good size and proportions, masculine head, with pleasing eye colour and shape. Good reach of neck, well muscled leading to well placed shoulders. Correct front and rear angles. In very good condition. Moved well.

Graduate Dog (2)
1. Janbell The Force Awakens. Almost 2yrs old and coming into his own. Another dog of good size and proportions with good bone and substance. Masculine head with good stop, correct bite and lovely eye colour and shape. Excellent reach of neck to well laid back shoulders. Level top line leading to sloping croup and well set tail. Good turn of stifle. True coming and going, moved with drive.
2. Locheil Secret Surprise at Elystari

Post Graduate Dog (1)
1. Cookvale Causin A Riot. Very honest dog. Black and white tri. Strong head but, not over done. Soft expression. Good bone and substance. Correct front and rear assembly, would have liked a little more depth of chest for age. Level top line which was held on the move. Full of energy so was a little unsettled on the move but saw enough to see soundness and extension.

Limit Dog (5, 1a)
1. Littlethorn Manta JW. Presented in lovely condition. Masculine head with correct proportions with pleasing expression. Correct bite. Well set ears which were sensitive in use. Good reach of neck. Correct front and rear assembly with good bone, depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved with drive, extension and balanced.
2. Wizaland Northern Soul. Pleasing expression, strong masculine head but not over done. Correct bite. Good reach of neck to well placed shoulders, depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved well.

Open Dog (7, 2a)
1. Janbell Here Comes Trouble. This dog has always caught my eye and he did not disappoint. Very good size and proportions with strong bone but not over done. Masculine head with pleasing expression. Correct bite, pleasing eye colour of correct shape, well set ears that were sensitive in use. Excellent, strong reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Level top line which was held on the move. Well turned stifle with strong well let down hocks. Moved with drive and extension, very balanced on the move. Handled to perfection. Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show
2. Arrodare Sex On Fire. Another dog that has always caught my eye and pushed hard for 1st. Lovely balance and outline with correct proportions and size. Nothing overdone. masculine head with soft expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Correct front and rear assembly. Level top line to sloping croup. Moved with drive. Reserve Best Dog.
3. Sh Ch Caleykiz Smoke On The Water

Special Open A.O.C Dog (3)
1. Tobermoray All About Banksy JW. I have adored this dog since he was a puppy. Just today was unsettled and didnít show him self off to his best or would have pushed for top honours. Blue and white. Good size and build. Strong masculine head with pleasing expression. Lovely reach of neck to well laid back shoulder. Very good angles front and rear, depth of chest and spring of rib. In superb condition. Sound coming and going moved with reach just unsettled today.
2. Quories Sweep From Snowmere ISDS. Such a honest dog. What you see is what you get. Kind and gentle temperament. Black and white tri. Correct head proportions with good bite. Lovely reach of neck, correct front and rear construction. Very well-muscled with athletic build. Moves with reach and drive and looks like he could go all day.
3. Arnpriors Harvest Gold

Special Open Working Dog (2)
1. Tobermoray Talk Of The Town JW. Very good size and proportions and well boned. Pleasing expression, with defined stop, correct bite. Good reach of neck to well-placed shoulders. Good rear assembly. Lovely spring of rib. Moved well.
2. Bramblesaz Aqua Freedom. Another with very good size and proportions. Masculine head with good stop and correct bite. Correct front and rear assembly. Was a little unsettled on the move but still showed reach and drive.

Veteran Dog (5, 2a)
1. Caleykiz Dance To The Rhythm. 10years young. Lovely dog not showing his age. Masculine head with correct proportions, bite. Pleasing expression. Strong neck with correct arch and good length. Very good front and rear assembly. Moved sound. Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran in Show
