Pre-Beginner Dog & Bitch Report

16th April 2016

Judge: Anne Bussey

My thanks to Sheilagh Hyde and team at Midlands Border Collie Club for the invitation to judge Pre-Beginners. We were well looked after all day; breakfast, drinks and a super lunch - not to mention the Easter Eggs! Many thanks to all concerned. Thanks also to Shelagh Page, my steward, who was great company as ever and kept everyone on course. Finally, to the competitors who were wonderful, thank you all for working your dogs for me to watch. I saw many glimpses of super performances. Just keep at it, so many of your dogs showed real talent today. You just need to maintain it a little longer...

If you went home with a rosette, many congratulations for holding it together. That said, some of the best glimpses of great work are not listed here. If thatís you please do not be disheartened, keep at it and you will be rewarded.

1st Mrs Marion Brierley and GOYTRE FIRST EDITION (BC). Your first show! Wow what an entry into obedience! Many congratulations on this fabulous performance. You will go far.

2nd Miss Alice Martin and READY TEDDY GO GO GO (Border Terrier). I have judged this pair before and I am impressed with Teddyís improvement. Well done!

3rd Klair Jones and TAKE IT TO THE MAX (BC). Some good heelwork from Max today and a clear recall and stays. Many congratulations!

4th Miss A Wassel and GOLD LILLY (GR). Lilly enjoyed her time in the ring, just a little drifting, but well done, lovely to watch.

5th Zoe Gilbert and GOLDEN BWICH BRACKEN (BC). Enthusiastic handling got the best out of Holly today- well done!

6th Heather Ward and IINCADAR ILLUMINARE FOR GEMLORIEN (Lge Munsterlander). Heike worked well today, congratulations.

7th Miss Donna Revill and VERDENDO LUCKY LU (Boxer). I know you were disappointed with Lunarís work today, but they are dogs and some days are better than others.

8th Ms Diane Atkins and LUCIA BELLE MAE (Cross). Well done on todayís showing.

9th Margaret McDevitt and CARRICKS POPPING CANDY (WS). But for a blip in the stays, Evie would have been much higher in the line-up.

10th Mr L Painter and CHELBORN LOVEABLE (Rough Collie). Steady reliable work from Benson today. Well done.
